Are you ready? World Autoimmune Arthritis Day’s 2013 Virtual Convention…. is coming!

WAAD13This is going to be so cool to attend, virtually that is!

Doing what I do for a living, conventions are the only way to get my CEUs but I really don’t like to have to drive/fly to any place because of the discomfort I get from sitting for too long. Not to mention having to sit and listen to speakers for hours on end. How great will it be to sit in the comfort of my home and attend this awesome event? It will be SUPER FANTASTIC!

So….  “what is this virtual convention about?” I’m glad you asked.

World Autoimmune Arthritis Day (WAAD) is an annual 47-hour event where nonprofits, advocates, and experts from around the world unite in order to provide educational and awareness information to patients, their supporters, and the general public.  This years event aims to triple in size from 2012, adding Nonprofit Booths, Vendors, a Raffle and a special feature: A Day in the Life with Autoimmune Arthritis (an Apple/Android app and Exhibit Booth).  It is an interactive, LIVE, Virtual Convention that you can attend for FREE! There are currently 36 Nonprofits who will be coming together to participate in this event! From the Arthritis Foundation US, South Africa, New Zealand and Crete to EULAR and even the US National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), there will be 100s of resources at your fingertips.

So…. “when does this start” Interested are you? I knew you would be :0)

WAAD13 begins at midnight of the first World Time Zone and ends at 11:59 of the last World Time Zone, or 6am ET/USA May 19th and ends at 5am ET/USA May 21st, 2013.

So… “what do I need to do in order to attend?” That’s the best question yet!

Well you go to the WAAD13 website and register. Once you have registered you will receive an email confirmation with your username and password that will enable to you to access the WAAD13 Virtual Convention.

So… “what do I need to attend this convention?” Well you sure won’t need a plane or a car! yippee

Just find an internet connection and join the rest of the world for 47 hours of education and fun!

I hope I see, Virtually, a lot of people there, it’s FREE, what do you have to lose? ;0)

  1. Because this is a virtual convention, I would assume that you’d have to do some typing. Doesn’t this work against those with autoimmune arthritis?? For their health and safety, wouldn’t it be best to just sit comfortably and listen to speakers without having to engage in digital tasks?

    • You make a good point. There are those who cannot type, but they have other ways for example a lot use talk to text applications. I have this and use it quite frequently on my iPad and phone. Maybe someday there will be more funding/donations for these type of events that will allow for audio/video presentations.
