Ankylosing spondylitis

Chronic Fatigue could mean Lead Toxicity!

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a condition that is characterized by abnormal fatigue. Normally, we humans work hard, exercise and even go through periods of stress that can be overcome after some rest. However, chronic fatigue does not and I repeat, does not go away with extended periods of rest. Chronic fatigue results in continuous exhaustion to where an individual cannot function in normal day-to-day activities.  Chronic fatigue can result in joint and muscle pain, lack of concentration, headaches, digestive problems, food allergies, depression and memory loss.

CFS usually present itself after the age of 40 and women are more commonly affected than men.  Symptoms of CFS fluctuate between sufferers and periods of time. One day you might feel “ok” in the morning but cannot function by noon.
So why discuss CFS you ask when this site is about AS? Well… I had, and I repeat HAD, CFS and I will share my experience here now. About a year and half ago I got to the point where I was in bed at 8 pm and up at 6 am and by 12 pm I had difficulty thinking, staying awake and communicating. The drive home was horrendous. Many a time I found myself dozing off while driving. Thank the universe I never got in an accident. Nothing worked to keep me functioning. I started looking up information and came across the website which gave some good information but I was only interested in the “cure”. I ordered the products which were a drink mix and some vitamins and after 3 days I noticed the change in my cognitive functions. After a week I was not tired through the day and could make it to a normal bed time.
I continued to take my drink mix and functioned “normally” for that year and a half. Then I went to see the therapist for a bio-feedback assessment and learned much more about this so-called chronic fatigue.
The first thing the bio-feedback “therapist” asked me “did you eat dirt as a kid?” Hum… “Yea” I replied, don’t all kids eat at least some dirt I thought. She proceeded to tell me I had high levels of lead in my body. Then asked, “Have you been told you were anemic?” “Are you tired all the time?” Well “yes” “yes” “yes” I replied. She began to explain, that through her research she found, that people with high levels of lead are usually diagnosed early as being anemic and are told to take iron supplements. Yep that was me. Then as we get older the doctors then put us on prenatal tablets if and when we get pregnant (of course not men, remember CFS is more prevalent in women) that feed the lead already in your body. This increased lead in our bodies is the reason that chronic fatigue invades our waking cycles.
So you ask what gets rid of the lead in our bodies. Something as simple as cilantro detox…. Ugh, I truly detest cilantro! Well of course she tells me to add some sugar and it will not be so bad. The thing is she says “you cannot do this if you have mercury/silver filling”. So under no circumstance should you even try this if you have mercury in your mouth. I quit drinking my end fatigue drink mix and within 2 days I noticed I had a lot of energy. This was before my vacation and during that time I felt like new person. Recently I noticed that I can go all day on less than 5 hours of sleep. I haven’t done that since my late twenties. Does it work? I think so… My next session with the “therapist” she said there was no sign of lead in my body… Yippee!
Now I have to tell you that drinking cilantro tea is not as bad as it sounds. I thought for sure I would gag at the first drop but it wasn’t bad at all.

Here is what you need/do:
1 fresh bunch of cilantro
1 gallon of distilled water
Put water in pan and clean cilantro really well. Put cilantro in pan, stir and bring to a boil. Once boiling turn heat down and simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off heat and let sit for 1 hour. Strain off cilantro and put liquid back into jug and put in refrigerator. Drink 1 cup a day, add sweetener if you need to, until gallon is gone.
Cilantro erodes these compounds
If you do this and you see changes or even if you don’t, please let me know. I haven’t known anyone with CFS to share this with.
I found some extra information with just a bit of difference in the ingestion method for the tea here.
